The data behind this page: 15 operator reviews of 5 apps that include wishlists · 73% very satisfied · 87% still using. The 7 reviews of dedicated wishlist apps are all very satisfied, and 6 of those operators still use the app. Reviews collected April 2024 to March 2026 from verified operators in the app store research network.

A wishlist looks like a small feature: a heart icon and a saved list. But for stores selling considered purchases, like furniture, jewelry or anything high-ticket, it's often where a shopper parks a product before coming back to buy. It's also one of the few places a customer tells you, unprompted, what they want.

Shopify's online store doesn't include a wishlist, so stores add an app. Below is what operators in our network say about the wishlist apps they run, plus the most-reviewed options on the App Store that our network hasn't reviewed yet.

Quick answers

What is the best wishlist app for Shopify? In our network, Swish, formerly Wishlist King. All 4 operators who reviewed it are very satisfied and still use it, and it holds a 4.9 rating from 280+ App Store reviews.

Is there a free wishlist app for Shopify? Yes, several have free tiers. Growave's free plan includes a wishlist, Wishlist Hero is free up to 500 wishlist additions a month, and SE Wishlist Engine is free up to 100 wishlist items. Swish is free for stores on the Basic Shopify plan for the first 500 lifetime saves.

Do customers actually use wishlists? Some use them heavily. One operator told us some brands see more than 100,000 wishes in a month.

Can shoppers save a wishlist without an account? With some apps, yes. Smart Wishlist, Wishlist Hero and SE Wishlist Engine all list guest wishlists. The trade-off: one operator said you can't tell who a guest saver is.

Is Swym Wishlist Plus still on the App Store? When we checked in October 2026, its App Store page said the app is not currently available. If you run it, confirm its status with Swym.

Do Shopify wishlists actually drive sales?

Our reviews don't measure wishlist revenue directly, but operators describe three ways wishlists earn their place.

They get used. One operations reviewer said they were surprised by how heavily shoppers use wishlists.

"Some brands have over 100k wishes in a month." — Operations, verified ASR review

They suit considered purchases. One owner selling high-ticket products called their wishlist app critical to the business. When shoppers take days or weeks to decide, a saved list is how they find the product again.

They show you demand. Saved items and alert sign-ups tell you what customers want before they buy. One owner said their back-in-stock requests showed which products customers wanted brought back.

Operators also want more from wishlists than saving. One asked for a way for friends and family to buy gifts from a customer's list, and said they'd pay for it.

A note on the data: wishlist apps get few reviews in our network, and Growave's reviews mostly discuss its loyalty and reviews features rather than its wishlist. Treat every rating here as directional. Wishlist Hero and SE Wishlist Engine are included on App Store reputation alone.

1. Swish (Wishlist King) — for polished, on-brand wishlists

Swish, the app formerly called Wishlist King, is the standout in our network: every operator who reviewed it is very satisfied and still uses it, and three have run it for more than three years. Operators describe it as easy to use, a good fit with their branding, and simple for customers. On the App Store it has a 4.9 rating from 280+ reviews.

Pricing is tied to your Shopify plan, from $29 a month on the Shopify plan up to $99 on Plus, with a free tier for Basic stores.

ASR rating: 100% very satisfied · 4 reviews · 100% still using

What operators love: easy setup that matches site branding; customer-friendly; heavy shopper usage; quick responses when one operator raised accessibility issues. Common concerns: costs rising as features are added; analytics were thin early on, since improved; no way yet for others to buy gifts from a customer's list. Small sample.

2. Growave — for a wishlist inside a retention suite

Growave bundles a wishlist with loyalty points, referrals and product reviews, and its free plan includes the wishlist. It has the biggest App Store following of any app here, with 1,200+ reviews. In our network, operators value it as one tool for several retention jobs. One solo founder said the combined features gave them the best value for money.

Our six reviews mostly discuss loyalty and reviews, not the wishlist. All six operators still use it, but only half are very satisfied.

ASR rating: 50% very satisfied · 6 reviews · 100% still using

What operators love: loyalty, reviews and wishlist in one app; strong value for small teams; fast, thoughtful support. Common concerns: gets expensive and can feel restrictive; limited design control on some pages; referral features lag behind the rest; one owner flagged accessibility gaps.

"Growave is like Full Suite for a retention marketing for me and my clients" — E-commerce Manager, verified ASR review

3. Wishlist Hero — for a free start with reminder emails

Wishlist Hero is the most-reviewed standalone wishlist app we could verify on the App Store, with a 4.7 rating from 410+ reviews. Its free plan covers up to 500 wishlist additions a month, and paid plans start at $4. Its listing leads with personalized reminder emails, including low-stock and price-drop alerts, plus guest wishlists and Klaviyo integration on higher plans.

No operators in our network have reviewed it yet, so this card rests on its App Store reputation alone.

ASR rating: no operator reviews in our sample yet.

What it's good for: starting free, then adding reminder emails as wishlist volume grows. What to check: how its plan limits on monthly additions fit your traffic, and which plan you need for Klaviyo.

4. SE Wishlist Engine — for wishlist reports and alerts

SE Wishlist Engine leans on data. Its listing highlights reports on your most-wishlisted products and who saved them, automatic emails, and price-drop and restock alerts on its Advanced plan. It has a 4.8 rating from 270+ App Store reviews, a free plan up to 100 wishlist items, and paid plans from $7.99 a month.

As with Wishlist Hero, we have no operator reviews of it yet.

ASR rating: no operator reviews in our sample yet.

What it's good for: stores that want wishlist data to feed merchandising and email. What to check: which features sit on which plan. Klaviyo integration and alerts start on Advanced.

5. Smart Wishlist — for low-cost guest wishlists

Smart Wishlist is the budget pick: one plan at $4.99 a month with a 60-day free trial. Its listing promises one-click wishlists, even without logging in. The one owner who reviewed it in our network has used it for over three years, called it critical, and praised both the setup and the support.

ASR rating: 100% very satisfied · 1 review · 100% still using (single review, directional only)

What operators love: easy to set up and brand; strong customer support; customers like it. Common concerns: guest wishlists can't be tied to a person, so you can't follow up with shoppers who haven't signed in. A sign-in prompt would help.

"Loved by the public and attractive placement of the wishlist icon" — Owner, verified ASR review

What happened to Swym Wishlist Plus?

Swym Wishlist Plus has long been one of the best-known Shopify wishlist apps. But when we checked in October 2026, its App Store page said the app is not currently available. We don't know why, so if you run it, check its status with Swym before you plan around it.

The two operators who reviewed it in our network were both very satisfied. One praised the team for helping install a custom design. The other stopped using it because limited customization held back their theme work.

"They even went above and beyond in helping us install a bespoke design feature" — Owner, verified ASR review

Run a store where shoppers save before they buy? App teams pay to hear about it. How your customers browse, save and come back is exactly what Shopify app teams want to understand. They pay operators $50 to $500 per call for that view. Turn your stack decisions into paid conversations. Get paid to share your operator view →

Should your wishlist connect to email and back-in-stock alerts?

A wishlist pays off when you act on it, usually through email. Several apps here send their own reminders, and Wishlist Hero and SE Wishlist Engine both connect to Klaviyo on their higher plans.

Check what your email platform already does before you add overlapping tools. One owner removed Swym's back-in-stock app because Klaviyo has back-in-stock notifications built in. Another spent weeks getting SMS alerts working through Klaviyo. Our back-in-stock app comparison covers the alert side, and our email marketing apps guide covers the platforms.

How to choose a wishlist app for Shopify

  • You want the best-rated option in our network: Swish. Budget for its plan-based pricing.

  • You already need loyalty or reviews: Growave, so the wishlist comes with the suite.

  • You want to start free: Wishlist Hero or SE Wishlist Engine, and watch their monthly limits.

  • You want the lowest flat price: Smart Wishlist at $4.99 a month.

  • You sell high-ticket or considered products: prioritize reminder emails and the link to your email platform, because that's where saved items turn into sales.

Whatever you pick, test it on mobile, check it works with your theme, and confirm it's accessible. Two operators in our network raised accessibility issues with wishlist or loyalty widgets. For the bigger stack picture, see our loyalty apps guide and our guides to apps for furniture and home and jewelry brands, where wishlists matter most.

FAQ

Does Shopify have a built-in wishlist? Not for the online store. Stores add a wishlist with an app from the Shopify App Store.

Which wishlist apps work without customer accounts? Smart Wishlist, Wishlist Hero and SE Wishlist Engine all list guest wishlists. Guest saves are convenient for shoppers, but harder to follow up on, since you may not know who saved what.

Can customers share a wishlist or buy gifts from one? Some apps support sharing, such as SE Wishlist Engine's social sharing. Gift purchases from a list are rarer, and one operator in our network asked for exactly that.

Are wishlist apps worth it for small stores? They're cheap to try. Several have free tiers, and Smart Wishlist costs $4.99 a month. They matter most for stores where shoppers compare and come back before buying.

Do wishlist apps slow down a store? One Swym Wishlist Plus operator said they had performance issues in the early years, which have since improved. Test any wishlist app on mobile before rolling it out.
