What exceeded expectations
Our affiliate program has brought in a surprising amount of sales even though we have barely pushed it, which says a lot about the platform. The payout rule system is flexible, you can stack different commission tiers for different partner types, creators versus coupon sites versus content partners, and even split rates for new versus existing customers. The product catalog sync from our Shopify store just works in the background without me having to think about it. Their read only reporting API, once you know its quirks, is solid enough to build account level reporting on top of instead of relying only on their dashboard.
What was disappointing
Some object types, like contract data, are locked behind a higher pricing tier than what we're on, so certain reporting is only fully visible through the API if you pay more. And there's no way to create or change actual payout terms through the API at all, any rate or contract change has to be made by hand in a UI that's clunky to use with its multiple confirmation steps. If I could fix one thing, it would be a write path for commission terms, because right now automating anything beyond reading data is not possible.
