What exceeded expectations
Search relevance is solid out of the box, and the merchandising controls let us boost/bury products without dev work. Setup was straightforward and it handles our catalog size well.
What was disappointing
The quiz and AI features lag behind competitors. I'd love to consolidate site search, product quizzes, and PDP FAQs into a single app instead of managing multiple tools separately. Doofinder is strong on core search but the broader product discovery suite needs work.

Customer support was excellent. It was definitely better than Shopify's native search filter. But still didn't always pull relevant results
What was disappointing
Sometimes the search results just didn't make sense. There was a 24 hour lag between when we made a change to a title on the back end, or added a new product, to when it was visible in DooFinder It was pretty obvious that there were two searches happening - DooFinder was like a screen that came down and worked in front of Shopify's native bar. When connected to fast internet, this isn't a problem. But if you have a slow connection, it was obvious that there were two searches happening, that were almost competing with each other.

What was disappointing
We are planning to remove the app. The app doesn't always update the catalogue with the newest products, which sometimes has to be a manual process. The other issue is in terms of accessibility. The accessibility is a serious concern as when a user tabs to move down a page... they can become stuck in the app as the search box expands and takes over the entire page with no escape option.
