The Best Page Builder Apps for Shopify (2026): What Operators Actually Use
/

The data behind this page: 31 operator reviews across 10 Shopify page builders · 68% very satisfied · 87% still using. Plus 5 reviews of Section Store, covered separately. Reviews collected January 2024 to July 2026 from verified operators in the app store research network.
A page builder is how a lot of Shopify brands get pages their theme can't produce: campaign landing pages, advertorials, custom product pages, test variants. The App Store lists dozens of them, and the best-known ones are all rated between 4.6 and 4.9 stars. That makes star ratings close to useless for choosing one.
So we looked at what operators who actually run these tools told us. Which builder they use, what it does well, what frustrates them, and whether they kept it. Below is what they said, app by app, plus what Shopify's new Canvas editor changes and where Instant fits.
Quick answers
What is the best page builder app for Shopify? In our network, PageFly has the most operator reviews and every one of those operators still uses it. Operators pick it for depth of control, and warn about the learning curve.
Which page builder is best for CRO landing pages? Replo. All 5 operators who reviewed it are very satisfied, and they use it to spin up test pages that match the live site.
Which Shopify page builder is easiest to learn? EComposer. Operators describe it as easy once you get the hang of it, with quick support when you don't.
What are the best Instant alternatives? PageFly for full control, Replo for CRO testing, EComposer for ease of use, and Section Store if you only need theme sections, not full pages.
Do I still need a page builder after Shopify Canvas? For many stores, yes, for now. At launch, Canvas doesn't support third-party Theme Store themes, Markets, translations, or app blocks. More on that below.

A note on sample sizes: PageFly, Replo, EComposer and Section Store have enough reviews to show a pattern. GemPages, Zipify, Shogun and Instant don't, so treat their ratings as directional, not as a verdict.
What do operators like and dislike about Shopify page builders?
Across all 31 reviews, the clearest pattern is what operators are paying for: independence. Flexibility and control came up in 10 reviews, more than anything else. Three operators said outright that the builder let them ship pages without waiting on a developer.
The complaints are just as consistent. Bugs, sluggish editors or finicky spacing came up in 6 reviews. Missing analytics or messy tracking came up in 4, and getting the builder to work alongside the theme or other apps came up in 3. A steep learning curve was the other common warning.
Support is the quiet tiebreaker. Six operators praised fast, helpful support unprompted, mostly for PageFly and EComposer. When you're stuck on a live campaign page, that matters more than the template count.
1. PageFly — for power users who want full control
The most-reviewed builder in our network, and the one operators lean on longest: most PageFly reviewers have used it for more than three years. Operators use it for product pages, advertorials, campaign pages and blogs, with separate mobile layouts. The tradeoff, named by several reviewers, is the learning curve.
ASR rating: 67% very satisfied · 9 reviews · 100% still using
What operators love: deep customization, including mobile-specific layouts; building and testing pages without a developer; support that answers fast and fixes issues directly. Common concerns: a steep learning curve for non-designers; bugs and a slower editor on complex pages; recent pricing and feature changes made the admin harder to follow; one operator had a page go live unintentionally.
"For power users, I think Pagefly is one of the best options available." — E-commerce Manager, verified ASR review

2. Replo — for CRO landing pages and testing
Replo has the highest satisfaction in our sample: all 5 operators are very satisfied and still use it. They use it for conversion-focused landing pages and product pages that look like the rest of the site, and for running tests without custom development each time. Its App Store listing leads with analytics and A/B testing.
It's also the most expensive starting point here, with paid plans from $119 a month. That fits a brand running a steady testing program, less so a store that needs two landing pages a year.
ASR rating: 100% very satisfied · 5 reviews · 100% still using
What operators love: landing pages that match the live site; spinning up CRO tests far faster than custom development; easy drag-and-drop building. Common concerns: working side-by-side with an existing theme took effort for one operator; another wants deeper integration with analytics tools. Small sample.
"I've used many page builders on the market and I consistently recommend Replo" — Owner, verified ASR review

3. EComposer — the easiest build, with strong support
EComposer is the builder operators describe as friendly. Professional templates, pages that hold up on every device, and support that responds quickly came up repeatedly. Four of five operators are very satisfied. The one who left cited spacing and element-sync problems, plus a separate tracking setup that made analytics harder.
ASR rating: 80% very satisfied · 5 reviews · 80% still using
What operators love: easy to use once learned; templates that look professional and adapt to brand; layouts that work on phone, tablet and desktop; fast customer support. Common concerns: the editor can feel sluggish; saving and reusing templates is awkward; some templates look dated; one operator hit spacing and tracking issues and stopped using it.
"Super easy to use once I got the hang of it" — Owner, verified ASR review

4. GemPages — for product-focused landing pages
GemPages has one of the biggest App Store followings, but the most divided reviews in our network. The two operators still using it praise unlimited pages and the developer time it saves. The two who left found it pricey for what the free plan allows, or hard to control on complex layouts. Four reviews is a small sample, so read this as a pattern to check, not a verdict.
ASR rating: 50% very satisfied · 4 reviews · 50% still using
What operators love: flexible, visually strong product pages; fast landing page creation without developer time; responsive support. Common concerns: no built-in analytics (raised twice); a learning curve, with key settings hard to find; conflicts with some third-party apps; the free plan is limited.
"Easy setup/creation of landing pages that saves a lot of time and dev resources." — Marketing, verified ASR review
5. Instant — for pages and theme sections, including Figma designs
Instant, now listed as Instant AI Page Builder, takes a different approach from the classic builders. Its App Store listing positions it as a no-code canvas that builds pages and theme sections, with support for pasting in Figma designs. Paid plans start at $39 a month.
We have only one operator review, so there's no pattern to report yet. That operator, a three-year-plus user, is very satisfied and said the feature set goes well beyond what they use. If you're weighing Instant against the rest, see the alternatives section below.
ASR rating: 100% very satisfied · 1 review · 100% still using (single review, directional only)
What operators love: a feature set deep enough that one long-time user says they can't use it all. Common concerns: none raised in our single review.
"really cool and useful tool" — Owner, verified ASR review
6. Zipify Landing Page Builder — for simple sales funnels
Zipify's page builder, long known as Zipify Pages, comes from the team behind Zipify's one-click upsell app. It's built around funnels, landing pages and product pages. Operators find it fast to set up. The criticism is the ceiling: one operator who runs PageFly on another store found Zipify less customizable.
ASR rating: 50% very satisfied · 2 reviews · 100% still using
What operators love: quick setup and page creation; flexible element placement for one owner who'd tried several builders. Common concerns: templates are poorly organized; less customizable and a bit clunky next to PageFly. Small sample.
"Very easy to set up and create pages for your store." — Marketing, verified ASR review
7. Shogun — for design control beyond the theme
Shogun has one of the larger App Store followings in the category. Our two reviews are both lukewarm. One operator had to reinstall it several times and stopped using it. The other still uses it but is weighing a move back to plain Shopify pages because spacing and type are hard to control.
ASR rating: 0% very satisfied · 2 reviews · 50% still using (small sample)
What operators love: more control over page design than Shopify alone; good-looking landing pages. Common concerns: finicky spacing and typography; repeated reinstalls; duplicated pages are hard to edit deeply. Small sample.
"More control of design of pages, versus Shopify alone." — Operator, verified ASR review
Do you need a full page builder at all?
Not always. If what you really need is a better section on existing pages, like a comparison table, a bundle block or a richer FAQ, a section library can be cheaper than a monthly builder.
Section Store is the one operators in our network use. It sells theme sections individually, most bought with a one-time charge, with an optional Plus plan at $15 a month. All 5 operators who reviewed it are very satisfied and still use it, and the reason is almost always cost.
ASR rating: 100% very satisfied · 5 reviews · 100% still using
What operators love: one-time pricing instead of another subscription; a wide section library; easy to add to Online Store 2.0 themes. Common concerns: some sections they want don't exist yet; limited customization on a few; support felt clunky to one operator.
"It's a one-time 9$ fee and the solution is yours forever." — Owner, verified ASR review
Run one of these page builders? App teams pay to hear why. You know what it's like to build a campaign page at 11pm before a launch. What are the best Instant alternatives for Shopify?
Instant's pitch is pages and theme sections built on a visual canvas, with Figma designs pasted straight in. If you're comparing it with the alternatives, start from the job you need done, because operators in our network use each tool for something different.
You want the most control and will invest time learning: PageFly. Every operator in our sample still uses it, more than half for over three years.
You run landing page tests for paid traffic: Replo. It has the highest satisfaction in our network, at a higher price.
You want the shortest path to a good-looking page: EComposer. It's the builder operators call easiest, with fast support.
You only need extra sections, not whole pages: Section Store. One-time pricing, and unanimous satisfaction in our sample.
Whichever you pick, test how its pages affect speed and tracking before you route ad spend to them. Those were the two most common regrets in our reviews.
Do you still need a page builder after Shopify Canvas?
On October 1, 2026, Shopify announced Canvas, a new design workspace that shows every page of your store together and lets you edit any element in place. You can also ask Sidekick, Shopify's AI assistant, to make changes, from one section up to a store-wide redesign. It's rolling out to existing stores now.
For a store on a Shopify theme with simple needs, Canvas may cover what a page builder used to. But at launch it has real limits. It doesn't support third-party Theme Store themes, Markets, rollouts, translations, or app blocks and app embeds. Themes edited in Canvas also stop receiving theme updates.
So if you sell in multiple markets, use a third-party theme, or rely on app blocks for reviews, upsells or bundles, a page builder is still the practical option for now. Worth watching as Canvas matures, though. It's the first serious native challenge to this category.
How to choose a Shopify page builder
Start with what the page is for. If it's a steady stream of campaign and test pages for paid traffic, choose for speed and testing (Replo, PageFly). If it's a handful of brand pages, choose for ease and support (EComposer), or check whether sections alone (Section Store) or Canvas will do.
Then check three things operators wish they had checked first:
Speed on heavy pages. Build one real page and test it on mobile before committing. Slow editors and slow pages were the most common complaint.
Tracking. Make sure your pixels and analytics fire on builder pages the same way they do on theme pages.
Exit cost. Builder pages usually live inside the app. Ask what happens to your pages if you uninstall.

FAQ
Is PageFly better than GemPages? Operators in our network kept PageFly more often: all 9 PageFly reviewers still use it, against 2 of 4 for GemPages. Both have large App Store followings. GemPages reviewers most often missed built-in analytics.
Is Replo worth the price? Operators who use it for ongoing CRO testing say yes: all 5 are very satisfied. At $119 a month and up, it makes the most sense for brands running regular tests on paid traffic.
Do page builders slow down a Shopify store? They can. Operators flagged slower pages and editors when a page has many custom sections. Test a real page on mobile before rolling a builder out across your store.
Are there free Shopify page builders? Most have a free tier, but they're limited. Some cap you at one published page, and others are free only for development stores or drafts. Plan on a paid tier for live use.
Can I switch page builders later? Yes, but plan on rebuilding. Each builder stores pages in its own format, so pages generally don't carry over to a new tool.
