What exceeded expectations
So, this app, in the beginning, was very unexpected that Shopify would release it, and I have to say, it was pretty impressive how well it works, especially as a theme developer. One of the many questions we get asked is about translating the theme, and it is nice now to be able to point to this app where people can use it for free. Being able to auto-translate the theme is really nice, and also having the ability to manually adjust translation, if it's not perfect, is greatly appreciated.
What was disappointing
I appreciate the app, but there are several areas that need improvement: Only two auto-translations are available, which is surprising given the app has already launched. No ability to schedule auto-translations. After every change in the Theme Editor, you must trigger a translation manually, something that isn’t clearly documented for new Shopify users. The UI is difficult to navigate and takes a long time to learn. A more streamlined interface would greatly improve onboarding and help users find what they need faster. The default language can’t be translated automatically. You still have to manually translate it, which defeats the purpose of having automated translation tools.
