It integrates seamlessly with our Shopify, and is generally faster to use than through the carrier platforms.
What was disappointing
I wish there was a way to get the best rates at all times, instead of having to bounce between platforms (ex: sometimes Shopify's built in rates are the best, and at other times our carrier rates in shipstation are better). Also, processing returns with the carriers isn't always straight forward.

I really like the easy integration with Shopify and how easy it is to split orders. I also like the the response time from the chat box when I need help with an issue.
What was disappointing
I do not like out it keeps logging me out of the app. I have to re-login to much.

What exceeded expectations
The customer support is fantastic I like the fact that there are two different screens to process orders, because different people have different needs and preferences. They both have their strengths and weaknesses - on a straight forward order the scan screen takes fewer clicks to accomplish the same task. But the orders screen has some more functionality, especially when it comes to comparing shipping prices.
What was disappointing
There are two key features I'd love to see implemented 1) On the scan page, when you add multiple boxes, you have to manually add box sizes. I'd like to be able to choose from my custom boxes I've set up. Our orders vary so widely that creating a "package set" is practically useless 2) ShipStaion has a "shipment count by user" that is probably very helpful to gauge individual productivity on most cases. However, the way we divide our workload, one of our team members regularly gets out 75 orders a day, while another may only get out 20. I'd love to have the options to see both the number of boxes shipped per user, and also how much weight one user has shipped out. I've put both of these concerns in the forum, and mention them anytime I call customer service. Definitely the biggest holes I've seen in their software.
