E-commerce Manager - D2C - streetwear and Sports performance wear Brands
Central Manchester
Reporting to: CEO and Brand Director
Full time head office based role 5 days a week
BRANDS:
A-GAME. UK. Our flagship in-house technical sportswear brand, engineered for high-performance
athletes and active lifestyles, currently scaling across the UK and US markets via our direct-to consumer channels.
• Ed Hardy: Holding the UK and EU licence, we have successfully relaunched and repositioned
this iconic brand for a new generation across key European markets, while also acting as an
authorised global supplier to other international licensees.
• AND1: Expanded in May 2025, we hold the licence for this globally recognised basketball and
original streetball brand, reintroducing it to today's streetwear market.
THE ROLE
As Ecommerce Manager you will take full ownership of the technical backbone of
our digital operation across Ed Hardy, AND1 and A-Game. This is a platform first role, responsible for the health, performance and evolution of our ecommerce technology stack, built primarily around Shopify Plus and integrated with NetSuite for our wider business systems.
We are open to introducing further platforms, potentially including Salesforce Commerce Cloud, as the business scales, so experience beyond Shopify is a genuine asset even though it is not part of our stack today.
Day to day trading performance and visual merchandising sit with dedicated specialists elsewhere in the team, so this role is deliberately focused on the technical and operational side of the business.
You will act as the technical lead for all onsite operations, meaning platform uptime, site speed,
checkout reliability and scalability sit squarely with you. You will own the roadmap for third party
integrations and apps, manage the relationships with platform vendors and developers, and translate commercial and brand requirements into technical specifications that a development resource can build against.
A central part of the role is bridging the gap between technical development and the commercial and brand teams. When the ecommerce team wants to test a new feature, change a checkout flow or launch a new landing page template, you are the person who scopes it, sequences it against the wider roadmap and delivers it without compromising site stability.
You will also own the technical implementation of analytics and tracking, ensuring GA4 and any other measurement tools are correctly configured across all three brands so that trading and marketing teams can trust the data they work from.
You will be expected to bring strong judgement on site security, data protection and payment
compliance, and to support the technical side of international scaling, including multi-currency setups and infrastructure that can support brand consistency as territories expand. This is a technical and operational leadership role for someone who understands ecommerce platforms deeply and takes genuine satisfaction in a site that simply works.
Please note due to the time zone difference with our China office, UK working hours are 7.30am to
4pm. We do not currently offer WFH flexibility.
QUALIFICATIONS
• At least four years in a senior ecommerce or platform management role, ideally supporting
more than one brand or site at once, within fashion, footwear or a premium lifestyle
environment.
• Expert level experience managing the Shopify Plus ecosystem, including its app landscape,
theme customisation and backend integrations, since this is the platform, our brands run on
today.
• Experience integrating Shopify Plus with NetSuite, given our current setup.
• Exposure to Salesforce Commerce Cloud or a comparable enterprise platform is a genuine
plus for the future, though not something we run on now.
• Strong technical understanding of web development and site architecture, with the
confidence to manage site performance, speed and reliability.
• Ability to hold developers and agencies to account on delivery.
• Comfortable owning a feature roadmap end to end, from gathering requirements through to
release.
• Organisational discipline to run several workstreams across three brands at once without
things slipping.
• Experience with GA4 and other analytics or tagging implementation, given responsibility for
the technical integrity of the data other teams rely on.
• Familiarity with international ecommerce infrastructure, including multi-currency and multi
region setups, given our expansion plans.
• Commercially aware enough to understand why a change matters to the business, while being
hands on enough to solve the technical problem that makes it possible.
Experience required
• 4+ years’ experience in a Senior or Ecommerce Manager role for a D2C brand, ideally within fashion, activewear, or a premium lifestyle environment.
• Proven track record of taking full ownership of a digital P&L, driving measurable growth in revenue, Average Order Value (AOV), and customer Lifetime Value (LTV).
• Expert-level proficiency with the Shopify Plus ecosystem, including deep knowledge of the app landscape, theme customisation, and complex backend integrations to support a premium customer journey.
• Strong technical understanding of web development and site architecture, with the ability to manage site performance, speed, and reliability while bridging the gap between creative and technical execution.
• Advanced experience in Conversion Rate Optimisation (CRO) and UX, with hands-on skill in using heatmapping, A/B testing frameworks, and data-led insights to remove friction from the sales funnel.
• Demonstrated expertise in digital visual merchandising, ensuring product presentation, site navigation, and landing pages are both aesthetically premium and commercially engineered for conversion
High proficiency in data analysis and visualisation using GA4 and Looker Studio (or similar), with the ability to build custom dashboards that translate complex data into clear, actionable commercial insights.
• Experience in international ecommerce management, including navigating multicurrency setups and ensuring brand consistency and scalability across global
territories.
• Strong commercial forecasting and inventory awareness, with the ability to collaborate with supply chain teams to ensure marketing pushes are backed by sufficient stock depth.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to lead site updates, product launches, and seasonal trading strategies simultaneously.
• Confident communication and reporting skills, with a proven ability to present trading performance and strategic next steps clearly to internal leadership.
• A proactive, hands-on team player with a can-do nature and the technical organisation required to manage an entire ecommerce operation in a fast-paced environment. • Self-motivated and reliable, with a genuine passion for performance-driven sportswear, data-led growth, and modern digital culture.
