AI SUMMARY

Ecommerce Manager at Modlite Systems (American-made premium tactical lighting, built in-house in Boerne, Texas), on-site, reporting to the Head of Marketing. The split is clear: marketing owns brand and creative, you own deployment and analytics. You put finished creative to work in the Shopify theme (product pages, collections, banners, launch pages, promotions), own GA4 and Shopify analytics including conversion, AOV, revenue per visitor and funnel drop-off, test fixes, manage the app stack, and track Klaviyo performance. You make light Liquid, HTML and CSS edits yourself and manage outside developers for bigger work. Fit if you have: 3+ yrs hands-on Shopify at a DTC brand or retailer, light front-end skills, Klaviyo, GA4 and basic A/B testing, and a record of improving conversion with numbers to show. Photography and design are not required. Pay: $70K-$82K. Benefits: health, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) with match.

About Modlite Systems

Modlite Systems is a premium tactical lighting company based in Boerne, Texas. Our American-made lights are built in-house by a focused team and trusted by professional, military and civilian users. We work closely with the people who use our products to keep refining them, and we value precision, reliability and getting things done.

The Role

The Ecommerce Manager is a full-time, on-site role in Boerne, TX, reporting to our Head of Marketing. Our Head of Marketing owns the brand and all creative: photos, video and graphics. You own deployment and analytics. You’ll take finished creative, put it to work across Shopify, email and paid channels, and use data to improve conversion and revenue. The website is our storefront, and this role is how it performs.

What You’ll Do

  • Deploy finished creative into our Shopify theme: product pages, collections, banners, launch pages and promotions

  • Own website analytics in GA4 and Shopify, including conversion rate, average order value, revenue per visitor and funnel drop-off

  • Find where shoppers stall, test fixes and report results in plain numbers

  • Manage the Shopify app stack and keep product listings, pricing, availability and inventory messaging accurate

  • Track Klaviyo campaign and flow performance and flag what’s working and what isn’t

  • Support landing pages and site work tied to promotions and paid advertising

  • Partner with marketing, operations, fulfillment and customer service so site content, inventory and promo timing stay aligned

  • Make light Liquid, HTML and CSS edits yourself, and manage outside developers for larger projects

  • Troubleshoot site issues quickly and keep everything consistent with our brand standards

What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years of hands-on Shopify experience at a direct-to-consumer brand or retailer

  • Light front-end skills (Liquid, HTML, CSS) and comfort briefing and managing a developer

  • Experience with Klaviyo or a similar email platform, including tracking campaign results

  • Strong analytical skills: GA4, KPI tracking and basic A/B testing

  • A track record of improving conversion or revenue, with numbers you can walk us through

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines. You close loops without being chased

  • Comfortable working on-site and collaborating closely with operations and fulfillment teams

  • A plus: experience in consumer products or tactical gear, or a genuine interest in firearms, the outdoors or tactical equipment

  • Not required: photography, video or design. That work stays with our Head of Marketing

Pay and Benefits

  • $70,000 to $82,000 per year, depending on experience

  • Health, dental, and vision plans available with company contribution

  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match.

  • A small, focused team where your work is visible from day one, with direct access to leadership at a growing, American-made brand

Questions you can expect in the interview

Drawn from this posting. None of them repeat on another job.

1.The posting splits the work clearly: the Head of Marketing owns creative and you own deployment and analytics. How do you push back when finished creative will hurt conversion on the page?
2.You would own GA4 and Shopify analytics, including conversion, AOV, revenue per visitor and funnel drop-off. Walk us through how you find where shoppers stall and how you prove a fix worked.
3.You would make light Liquid, HTML and CSS edits yourself and manage outside developers for bigger work. Where do you draw that line, and how do you brief a developer so the job comes back right?
4.You would manage the Shopify app stack. Tell us about an app you removed and what you checked before removing it.
5.Modlite sells premium tactical lights to professional, military and civilian users. What do these buyers need from a product page that a general consumer might not?
