AI SUMMARY

Ecommerce Developer (.NET) at ICON International, on-site in the Miami-Fort Lauderdale area. You take ownership of an existing .NET commerce project and lead its rewrite on a headless stack: Shopify for commerce, a custom .NET backend for business logic, Sanity.io for content and Vercel for front-end deployment. That means auditing and documenting the current codebase, deciding what to migrate, refactor or retire, building the replacement platform and Shopify integrations, modelling content so marketing can work without engineering, and owning preview and production releases. Fit if you have: 3-5 yrs as a full-stack .NET developer, production ecommerce experience, hands-on Shopify Storefront and Admin APIs in a headless setup, Vercel or similar hosting, a headless CMS (Sanity preferred) and Git. Claude Code or similar AI tooling is a plus. Pay: $85K-$100K. Benefits: medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k) match, PTO.

Software Engineer, .NET Developer / E-Commerce

Position Description

ICON International is hiring an E-Commerce .NET Developer to take ownership of an existing .NET commerce project and lead its rewrite from the ground up. You will inherit an existing codebase and re-architect the customer facing shopping experience on a modern headless stack with Shopify for commerce, a custom .NET backend for business logic, Sanity.io for content, and Vercel for front-end deployment. The ideal candidate has shipped real transactional commerce and can move quickly with AI-assisted tooling. The position requires someone who can take ownership of features from requirements through deployment.

The E-Commerce .NET Developer is responsible for the continued growth of our online shopping experience, beginning with the transition and rewrite of an existing .NET commerce project. This role works across a modern headless environment — Shopify for commerce, a custom .NET backend, Sanity.io for content management, and Vercel for deployment. The position will partner closely with design, merchandising, and marketing to deliver a fast and dependable customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, define and prioritize business requirements

  • Take over, audit, and document the existing .NET e-commerce project; identify what to migrate, refactor, or retire.

  • Design and build the replacement platform, including custom .NET services supporting the storefront.

  • Build and maintain Shopify integrations against a headless architecture.

  • Model and integrate content from Sanity.io so marketing can manage merchandising and site content independently of engineering.

  • Own deployment and environment configuration on Vercel, including preview environments and production releases.

  • Collaborate with design, merchandising, and marketing to translate requirements into working features.

  • Write maintainable, tested code and participate in code review.

Skills and Qualifications

Requirements

  • Strong business analysis and requirement gathering skills along with problem solving and analytical skills is a must.

  • Minimum 3-5 years as a full stack developer using .NET technologies. (.NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET, MVC, etc.)

  • Demonstrated experience building or supporting production e-commerce applications.

  • Hands on Shopify experience with Storefront API, Admin API, and headless Shopify implementations.

  • Experience deploying with Vercel or comparable modern hosting platforms.

  • Working knowledge of a headless CMS — Sanity.io strongly preferred.

  • Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working with Agile methodology

  • Prior experience inheriting and rewriting a legacy commerce platform.

  • Familiarity with Claude Code or similar AI-assisted development tools.

  • Experience using various source control and QA tools like Azure Dev Ops, GIT

  • Azure or AWS cloud experience; CI/CD pipeline setup.

  • SQL Server / Entity Framework experience

Questions you can expect in the interview

Drawn from this posting. None of them repeat on another job.

1.You would inherit an existing .NET commerce project and decide what to migrate, refactor or retire. Walk us through how you would audit a codebase you have never seen.
2.The new stack is headless: Shopify for commerce, a custom .NET backend, Sanity.io for content and Vercel for the front end. Where does each piece of logic belong, and why?
3.You would model Sanity content so marketing can manage merchandising without engineering. How do you design a content model that stays flexible but does not break the storefront?
4.You would own preview environments and production releases on Vercel. How do you keep a rewrite and the live site from conflicting during the transition?
5.The posting mentions moving quickly with AI-assisted tooling like Claude Code. Tell us how you use it on production code and how you check its output.
